Scientific English training

We learn from each other when…

… we communicate precisely, clearly and convincingly.
Precision and professionalismPrecision and professionalism
Nowadays English is the lingua franca of science and research. Therefore researchers are expected to publish articles in international journals in English and present their research results in English at international conferences. Alongside the quality of a scientist's findings, his or her ability to communicate professionally, convincingly and precisely within the international academic community is the key to success.
Holding presentations and writing articles in English
Drawing on my expertise in the area of academic English, I offer a range of specialised workshops specifically designed to help scientists, Ph.D. students and researchers improve their English communication skills – their presentation, discussion and writing skills. I draw on an extensive repertoire of teaching methods and materials, ensuring that the workshops are a worthwhile, rewarding and fun experience for all involved! The contents are always very practical – the English you need as scientists for your day-to-day working lives.

Flexible workshop duration and contentsFlexible workshop duration and contents
I hold the workshops in universities, graduate schools and research institutes. Their duration varies between half a day and five days.
The training concepts described in the fact sheets below essentially cover the English-language skill set required by scientists. I would be happy to adapt any of the concepts to the needs of your institution or develop a customised training concept on demand.
